Topic: Air Cleaning Technologies for HVAC

Speakers: Don Borgmann PE and Kevin Glauber CEM, Energy Engineers & Project Developers with Trane

 

Don Borgmann is a project engineer with Trane who develops energy savings metrics for Intelligent Services reports, providing technical assistance with ongoing review of building data for system troubleshooting, diagnostics, and energy savings. Don is also responsible for developing Indoor Air Quality Assessments for clients and developing solutions for air cleaning technologies in HVAC.

 

Kevin Glauber is a project engineer with Trane who oversees detailed audits of facilities, engineering design, and work scopes for our clients. He provides a comprehensive approach, from LED lighting to retrofitting HVAC with bipolar ionization in order to meet the specific needs of our customers.

 

Don and Kevin will present on indoor air quality as it relates to your HVAC systems focusing on dilution, exhaust, containment and cleaning. They will also compare common air cleaning technologies including UV lights, bipolar ionization, and dry hydrogen peroxide technologies.

Topic:  Virtual Commissioning

Speaker:  Emily Startz-Director of Energy Efficiency Programs at Power TakeOff

Emily Startz oversees the implementation of energy efficiency programs and the relationships with Power TakeOff’s utility partners. Power TakeOff’s primary program offering, Virtual Commissioning (VCx) employs data analytics and engagement strategies to deliver operational energy savings for small to medium-size commercial customers. The VCx Program is currently offered in partnership with eight utilities including a newly launched pilot for Ameren IL. Prior to joining the Power TakeOff team, Emily managed the development of New York State’s commercial energy management initiatives including the design and implementation of a collaborative performance-based energy savings pilot. Emily also has utility experience managing industrial, small-to-medium business, and low-income demand-side management programs.

Emily will present how their innovative Virtual Commissioning (VCx) programs have been delivering a cost-effective service that uses smart meter data to identify and support the implementation of operational-focused efficiency improvements with no cost to its participants.

Speaker:  Patrick Justis, Manager of Efficient Electrification Development, Ameren Missouri

Pat joined Ameren in 2008, when he was hired to help launch the Company’s first major energy efficiency program for business customers.    He leads the company’s electric vehicle initiative.  He is currently Board President for the Set the PACE St. Louis program in the city.  Pat earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from University of Missouri – Columbia and an MS in Environmental Science and Policy from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University – Bloomington.  He is a registered Professional Engineer in Missouri.

The Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Program is partnering with the Association of Energy
Engineers (AEE) Central Illinois Chapter to host Certified Energy Manager (CEM) training. Since
its inception in 1981, the Certified Energy Manager credential has become widely accepted as
a measure of professional accomplishment within the energy management field.
