Speaker: Jessica D’Anna

Jessica presented on Energy Services Contracts and their applications. Jessica is a customer focused professional with six years of experience and a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering. At Trane, Jessica leads the Public Sector Division for Comprehensive Solutions and Energy Services Team serving Illinois. Her primary role includes educating her clients on alternative financing mechanisms to address energy and infrastructure needs that directly impact the building’s environment. She works closely with K-12 Districts and City Officials to develop projects in a financially responsible manner. Jessica provided support over the life cycle of the project including the performance guarantee and measurement phase.

Benjamin Boyt presented on common facility HVAC systems and related energy use/efficiency. Benjamin has a deep well of experience to draw upon, acquiring subject matter expertise in all manner of commercial and manufacturing settings; in particular industrial facilities, hospitals, churches and hotels. In addition he is a licensed engineer in 37 states; a Certified Healthcare Constructor, Document Technologist, LEED Accredited Professional, CDB Prequalified Firm and BICSI member. Related, Boyt Engineering is a highly reputable mechanical, plumbing and electrical design engineering design firm located in Marion, IL.

Speakers: Neil Saffelder (Plant Manager) and Justin Harrell (Engineer) provided a presentation and tour of the SIU-Carbondale Campus Cogeneration Facility.  Neil presented a slide show about the plant operations and then led a tour through the facility. Justin led a tour of the solar power system a short walk away and answered any questions about campus energy management.

Topic: Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Program Overview & Updates

Speaker: Larry Erwin, Energy Advisor – Larry Erwin is Ameren Illinois’ Energy Efficiency Program Energy Advisor for Southern Illinois. Larry is a five year veteran of the Program’s Business activities and has had the opportunity to develop relationships and work with nearly every major Ameren customer in his tenure territory. Larry’s presentation provided a brief overview of the program, updates for 2019 and consider common efficiency interests for local commercial and institutional customers.

Speaker: John Carroll, AMIL –John Carroll is the Market Development Project Coordinator in the Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Program.John is a 7-year veteran of the Residential Program, having participated with his own home performance company as a Registered Program Ally for three years and now serving in the Residential program for four.He’s BPI certified as a Building Analyst and Envelope Pro and has been in more attics and crawlspaces than he cares to mention. He has served multiple roles in the residential program and recently joined the Market Development team.His daily focus is on making the program work for homeowners and Program Allies.

Speaker: David Baker, Energy Resources Center- David Baker is a Senior Research Specialist with the Energy Resources Center at the University of Illinois-Chicago. David serves as Assistant Director of the U.S. Department of Energy-sponsored Central CHP Technical Assistance Partnership, a technical outreach program that promotes combined heat and power (CHP) technologies in the industrial, commercial, and institutional market sectors in a four state region.
